04/17/2020

Had it with plumbing leaks? Surprisingly, we spend hundreds of dollars on plumbing repairs
which can be done free of cost.
Do not dread over dripping faucets and pipes. Follow these 5 simple tips to avoid plumbing
leaks -
1. Wrap the Pipes -

It is one of the most useful tips to avoid plumbing leaks. It protects the exterior pipes from
leaking.
Pipe wrapping is favourable in the winter season when the water freeze and causes
pipe bursts.
The pipe water won't freeze when it is moving.
Therefore, if you are leaving home for a long time, leave all the faucets open.
You can also insulate the entire space.

2. Conduct Plumbing Inspections -

A plumbing inspection will help you determine the leaks and other plumbing issues.
Take a quick look at all the pipes in your house. If you detect any leaks, schedule a plumber right away.
For exterior leaking pipes, you can follow the instructions online.

3. Unload the sink -

Do not overload the kitchen sink. An overloaded sink is susceptible to leaks.
Always keep checking the area under the kitchen sink for leaks or water dripping.

4. Replace Leaky water heater-

Okay. So if your water heater is leaking, its time to replace it!
The water leaks could result from worn-out linings.
If you find water leakage, contact the manufacturer and get it replaced if the product is still
under warranty.
While installing a new heater, install a pan beneath it.

5. Set Spigot Valve -

It is important to set back the spigot valve.
Install a frost-free hose bib for pipes going through a cement foundation.
The hose bib allows you to shut off the water which is closer to the interior of the home.
This ultimately helps prevent freezing.
